Vintage American Character Betsy McCall Town and Country Outfit Large Checks

The American Character Town and Country outfit for the 8” Betsy McCall doll is one of my favorites and also, one of the first outfits to be produced in 1957. This is the rarer big check version and it’s in excellent condition. The black and white checked coat has a black felt collar and a bright red lining. One white metal snap closes at the front and there is a band of black felt and two white buttons for decoration on the back. The dress is also the large check pattern and has a band of red and one tiny faux button on the bodice. It closes in back with two square snaps. The bodice has yellowed a bit with age, so you may want to launder it. I do not launder my items leaving that to buyer’s preference. The black felt tam has elastic around the edge. It it appears in photos that the tam really just sits on the top of Betsy’s hair—I cannot tell if elastic is stretched or not. Please see photos and ask any questions you may have before you bid.
