These gaskets are made in my workshop and are made of a high quality material which works extremely well in these reproducers. I chose to make these BLACK gaskets because some suppliers are not able or willing to provide BLACK gaskets that fit the #4 reproducers. From other very good suppliers you get a gasket that is far too big. It must be cut and installed like a tube gasket. NOT ACCEPTABLE.
This is my hobby not my business. I am not in competition with those very good suppliers around the country. I am well into my 70s retired and work in my little workshop. I sell products on E Bay only to offset some of the cost of my hobby which can get very expensive. I restore and repair Victrolas and Reproducers and will have more of those completely restored reproducers in the future. They were appreciated by many buyers. Right now I have requests for more gaskets and have a number of motors to service. It keeps me busy.
These Gaskets are Hollow punched by hand. No machine involved so your very close inspection will see they are not absolutely perfect but they look really good and work extremely well. I place each gasket in a NO 4 reproducer bezel to check for quality and fit. They have been well received
As you can see, these gaskets are BLACK in color. This is the "original " color for the VICTROLA  #4. The HMV #4 was RED.
Below is a video testing a set of gaskets. I used an original HMV #4, just received from the UK, as I don’t have any Vic #4s in my collection. I just changed out the red and put in the black gaskets. Did not even clean the mica, nothing was done to the reproducer. It works very well. The video is of an HMV 101 with a soft tone needle and an electrically recorded record. This recording, I believe, is a good test for any reproducer.
