    Description

    RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF GARDEN RIVER (RUSSIA)   NO.490
    Drawn from the The Bank of Commerce in Prince Albert.  This cheque is dated 1934.
    The RM of Russia No. 490 was originally incorporated as a rural municipality on January 1, 1913. Its name was changed to the RM of Garden River No. 490 on March 24, 1928
    They must have had a surplus of cheques as this is dated well after they changed their name.  Also the name Russia has been lined out but this has been done at the printers rather than hand done.
    It is in excellent condition but has some type of paper residue on left side near the postage stamp.  It has a couple of  bank ink stamps and has a 3 cent affixed on the face and a 3 cent excise stamp on the reverse.  This is a larger cheque.  It measures 3 1/2 inches by 8 inches.
