Description
This is a conversion kit to Quantar/Quantro base station to ASTRO-TAC 3000 Comparator. This includes everything needed to make up to a 10 port P25 and/or analog voter running the latest firmware!A great use for 800 MHz Quantars!
Included in this package is the following:
1, 80 pin Flash SIMM with R03.19.001 Firmware (9/2018)
5, Wireline Firmware matching R03.19.001 for up to 5 wireline cards
1, Code Plug EEPROM with a valid ATAC3k code plug
1, Motorola 68040 microprocessor
2, AMP back plane connectors
30 gauge wire wrap wire
10 pages of detailed instructions
Please note: the SCM/EPIC II controller, Wireline Cards, or v.24 daughter boards are supplied by the buyer. Please check your existing Quantar is an EPIC II SCM, and wireline cards are second-generation (6955/6956) with replaceable EEPROM sockets.
This kit does require some soldering on the backplane of the Quantar station to install two edge connectors and a small jumper on the EPIC II SCM module. If you're unable to do basic soldering this kit isn't ideal for you.
Note you can use this as a 3 slot (up to 6 port) chassis with out adding the additional parts on the backplane. This means the only soldering required for this is a single jumper on the SCM if you're unsure about working on the backplane.
Fully populated with 8 wire cards this will make a 10 port system, 4 wire cards will give a 5 port system.
All chips have a high quality vinyl label affixed that will not deteriorate over time or temperature.
I am not always able to ship next day, but try my best.
Free shipping is USPS Priority Mail for this. Normally I give free USPS First Class shipping, but this is a larger and more expensive item. I'm based in the Southeast US, so you should have it in 1-2 days to most of the United States.
If you have any issues, just return the parts (at your cost) and I'll credit your account back. I cannot take back parts if this has been used though. I provide my contact info in the documentation if you do get stuck.
I do not authorize this package to be used in a life safety critical or communications system, please contact Motorola for your needs if that's the case.
These are mostly of use in the amateur radio community.
