MURASE GENMYO
(1913-1988) was the priest of Obaku-sect born in Nagano Prefecture. He practiced Zen asceticizm at the Manpuku-ji Temple, the headquaters temple of the Obaku sect of Zen Buddhism located in Uji of Kyoto. Later, he became the head priest of the Ryokuju-In, one of the buildings in the Manpuku-ji. From 1980 to 1987, he served as the Sect Minister of the Obaku sect.
