AMONG THE RUTGERS PLAYERS WAS DERON CHERRY, WHO WENT ON TO BECOME A 6-TIME NFL PRO-BOWL PLAYER.
FRANK BURNS WAS THE HEAD FOOTBALL COACH AT RUTGERS FROM 1973-1983.  HIS WON/LOSS RECORD WAS 79-42-1.   COACH BURNS LET HIS SCARLET KNIGHTS TO THE FIRST BOWL GAME IN THEIR HISTORY--THE 1978 GARDEN STATE BOWL.       FRANK BURNS DIED JULY 14, 2012.
