  • Condition: The bookplates are affixed to the inside, front covers of the books. The green book has a strong binding, uncracked hinges, and significant fading on the spine and around the edges of the back cover. The fore edge decoration has no damage. The first page has prices, written in pencil, in one corner. The red book is in good condition, for it's age, with wear and soiling on the covers and spine. The spine is faded, but not as bad as the green book. The binding and hinges are strong and uncracked. See the pictures.

    Description

    Referring to the red book: The artist's name, Paul Hofer, appears in small letters on the bookplate (with the young couple on it). The bookplate is affixed to the inside, front cover of a book, published in 1921. Please view the scan of the title page. The book is in good condition, for it's age, with wear and soiling on the covers and spine. The spine is faded. The binding and hinges are strong and uncracked. As for the green book, the fore edge decoration, which runs along the top, side and bottom page edges, appears to be stamped on. It's not hand drawn. This book has the open book book plate, affixed to the inside of the front cover, and front and back endpapers with jugendstil art decorations. The front and back endpapers are identical.
